I had the same dilemma three weeks ago. In the end I deciced to go ahead and I got the 1D X. Amazing camera! A lot of reading and practice is needed to maximise the benefit of what is capable of doing. I have not found any of the problems mentioned so far. In any case, understand a firmware release is imminent. Go ahead and get the camera...
