Your tripod vor macro?
Aug 17, 2012

I recently purchase the Cullmann 528q tripod with "Quickshift" column, you can use it at all angles (similar to some tripods by Vanguard or Giottos)... But I am not really happy with it's stability. Esp. with the column shifted it's not sturdy at all, you must use a remote or at least delay - but it's a heavy tripod to carry with you...

So I decided to get a new "all purpose" tripod, but I am not sure if a "normal" tripod without that funcionality would be okay for most of needs...

Now I would like to ask you what kind of tripod do you use for macro shooting? Something like that with columns that can be shiftet (the Manfrotto system is something similar but just at 90 degree, I have a 190XPROB, too) or a normal tripod, maybe with a short center column?

Thanks for your input!
