Love the new 24mm; don't need in-body IS
In reply to graphikal, Aug 17, 2012

The new 24mm f/2.8 IS is an excellent lens — I'm very happy with it. The old 24/2.8 had a noisy AF motor and wasn't built as well and, of course, lacked IS. Hence, I never bought the old 24/2.8, but did buy this new one. I certainly don't need in-body IS; if I did, I would have gone with one of the manufacturers that offers it. If you feel "raped" by this company that offers great lenses, there are many other options out there.

I don't understand what Canon is playing at, that they think people will not notice that their new IS short primes offer little to no benefit over the old ones optically, while being bigger, heavier and much more expensive. A case in point is the 24mm f/2.8 IS.

Canon, we need in-body IS, not for you to rape our pocketbooks. You ought to be ashamed.
