Let me clear up a couple of things.
1. I am not suggesting to the OP that he swap his Pana G1 for an LX7. I don't think he should.
2. I thought that someone might be interested in the pics from the new camera, that's all.
3. The situation was that I picked up the camera, was directed to the waterfall and told to take pictures. I was supplied with a tripod. I fiddled with the ND filter which is activated with a tiny lever on the back of the camera. I think I had it swtiched in. Note: Think! I couldn't see any indication that it was so.
4. I asked about the ND filter -- physical or digital -- and was told physical. There is some magnetic arrangement used to pull the filter into the light path. That is what I was told and I couldn't check it in the short time I had the camera.
5. I am an Olympus m4/3 person which is why I am reading posts here. I think the LX7 is a ripper little camera, but I am not about to swap my Olympuses for one.
6. On the same camera release excursion I got to try the new GF5 and the 45-150 lens. Superb combination. Here are two photos taken with that camera/lens combo...
