The biggest problem of the DP2M (truth and facts) : BANDING

I wanted to show you what I define as a real problem on the DP2m, something who can be a real deal breaker and should be. Many photographers do make B&W with foveon devices.

SIGMA if you read this, note I will show that here, on other forums and in France too, because that can't be tolerable. People who spend 950 € or 1 grand on this device should be able to convert files in B&W but, for many subjects , this in not possible at all !!

So to illustrate what I say, I simply downloaded a raw form Andrew Hodgkinson blogs and converted it to B&W. I was just about tweaking some local contrasts and dynamics when my eyes started to bleed.

SIGMA ! You must work on this issue OR recall all devices who show this kind of banding at ISO 200 WTF ??? . Every Sigma users here, should test there Merril (SD1, DPm) like the shoot done by Andrew Hodgkinson here http://pond.org.uk/galleries/DP2M/slides/SDIM0960.html
