Having had a really productive spring and summer shooting wise the local wetland has finally dried up, but not before giving me one of the best evenings yet. I have been getting lower and lower as the season progressed and the ground dried. On Sunday the last night with any birds there I had the camera only a couple of inches off the ground for a very shallow depth of field combined with the golden light and reflections. Needless to say I'm really happy with the results. A few of my favourites from Sunday.

Western Sandpiper

Red-necked Phalarope

Lesser Yellowlegs

Lesser Yellowlegs

Lesser Yellowlegs and flies

A great blue heron dropped in not seeing me in full camo

Least Sandpiper
