Maybe a future public will lose appreciation for good images. It has happened before, in so many disciplines. Even education...

If "good" images are no longer appreciated by the public, aren't they simply no longer "good" images?

If this seems like sophistry, I'm afraid it has some real substance. I find myself embroiled from time to time in issues that arise around judging in photo competition. Are there absolute standards of a "good" image? Are there objective standards at all? What are they? Where did they come from? Are they timeless, or do they change with time? Should judges be trained to judge properly? Etc., etc..

What's "good" music? Who sez?

Well, I would think a good image is one that is focussed and exposed properly, framed well , free of camera shake, and excessive noise , and most importantly it should be of some interest to whoever is viewing it. Others might look at it another way so you're right. Who sez?
