Win 7/64 Update Failure.

Never had a problem with Win Update until today:

After required Restart, it went to 15% of Configuring Windows Update, on splash screen, then went "nuts":

It went to a Windows screen that looked something like Safe Mode, but with blurry, wavey, multi-colored lines accross the screen.
Eventually a "Repair" dialog appeared, but running it couldn't fix the problem.

I had recently upgraded the BIOS on My ASUS P8P67PRO MOBO to ver. 3207, but I'm not sure how/if it could effect Windows updade???

I also restored to a Paragon back-up; but the same thing happened again.

Anyone else experiencing problem/s with current Win 7 Update?
