what you want for newborns is a 100mm macro lens, caz theyre tiny. when they get to 6-8 months old, sell it and go down to something like a 24-70mm. Keep that for a few years until they get to their tween years. Then you probably wanna get the 70-200mm because you're now an embarassment to your kids and you're not cool enough to be around them anymore, so you need the zoom capability. If they get too fat, you should get the 16-35 for family photos so they dont feel bad by being cropped out of the picture if you're using a normal lens in the 50mm range.
