Sony HX5v vs HX30v

Hi Y'all,
I currently have a HX5v and thinking of upgrading to HX30v, has anybody made this move with anything to report?
My main gripe with the HX5v is it's lack of ability to focus adequatly on indoor shots both in terms of speed and quality (which is something the HX30v gets good review comments on).
As you may have already judged by my choice of cameras, I'm obviously not a pixel peeper, but am still concerned by the slating the HX30v gets in terms of image quality with Sony's insane choice of packing an extremely high resolution onto a tiny sensor (noise issues and in Sony's case noise reduction issues), but surely it will still be a step forward vs the HX5v which I am so far quite satisfied with. Would shooting in lower resolution negate any of these downsides of packing all them pixels on the pinhead size sensor?
I have a Canon Pro 9000 mkII printer, what would be the biggest size you'd recommend I print with the HX30v?
Regards,
Kevin
