RX100 Popular Photography Test: why you shouldn't rely on reviews
Aug 13, 2012

I was pretty surprised when this month's issue of Pop Photo arrived at my house and I read the RX100 review. While I knew from my user experience that it was best at low ISO's, hey, that is common sense, I didn't expect to hear that RX100 "...produces noisier images at ISO 80 than the S100 does at ISO 400." Wow. Worse yet, the resolution numbers they came up with were a bit low for a 20mp sensor...2270 at base ISO which dropped 100 lines by ISO 400.

What's in a review? Everything if I want to believe it, nothing if after using the camera before it is tested I found it to be very satisfactory. I could have continued enjoying the RX100 without having read this, as many will, and should. It is a great compact that still bests all other advanced compacts in my view.

Thoughts?
