1/40s at 175mm. I get to this level of sharpness at 1/30 and 1/40 with almost full confidence, certainly better than 90% hit rate:

Basically I just tune to 1/30 or 1/40 and shoot about three images and leave it at that. This time I took only one as the battery is dying and I still have other scenes to cover. It's not true zero blur at the 100% pixel peeping level, but printed to 8x10 and viewed at comfortable distances it's good. By the way for this particular image, camera shake was only one of the problems as there was a slight breeze as well.

This is 10 times the shutter open time as the recommended sharp speed of 1/300+. I don't think this is possible without IS for such a high rate of success.

On the other hand, I still have difficulties with 1/160. The success rate is lower than for 1/30.
