D800 and upcoming D600. Where does the D700 go now?

I personally had a long serious thought about it. I planned on getting myself a D800, but after looking and handling one, awesome as it is, I thought I don't need 30+MP Camera. I don't shoot that large and nor am I a heavy cropper. Then the thought of the rumored and upcoming D600 would be very interesting. Was said it was a cheaper alternative and would fit the bill.

But then I thought, wouldn't that have anymore cutbacks and all?

So I found myself an almost new D700, and I plan on buying it.

What do you guys think?
