It was not my intention to start a 3 vs. 5 war here just to share some experiences, which are that to my need (often indoor or streets at evenings) the 5 works better first of all because of the image stabilisation and the slightly cleaner raw files. But i agree, both cameras can come up with surprises, and the 3 had really nice jpeg rendering at base iso, actually often better than i was capable of achieving in ACR.
