I bought the Retina with 512 GB SSD and use CS6 Suite, LR, Aperture and Final Cut Pro X.

I now keep my main Aperture and Lightroom Library on an external USB 3.0 drive so it's easy to switch and work from the different Macs I own without merging Libraries/Catalogs. You don't need a Thunderbolt drive to run your Library, USB 3.0 is fine.

If you use Lighroom and are worried about space then convert your RAW images to DNG after import then delete the RAW files. You will save 50% of the file size and lose zero quality. I do this with all my D800 NEF's.
