The new SIGMA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM
Aug 11, 2012

I've had this lens on my Canon 550D for a about a week now and so far, so good. Autofocus seems bang on, images are generally very good for a superzoom and the lens is beautifully constructed and whisper silent in operation. However, I seem to be getting some pretty poor bloom / chromatic abberation when I zoom in on high contrast scenes. See the following example... see how the white glows and bleeds into the black. This hasn't happened too often, but should I be worried? Is this normal for this type of zoom or is there a problem with the lens? Any comments would be welcome.

Canon EOS 550D (EOS Rebel T2i / EOS Kiss X4)
