How I wish the D800 had been £4000...

...then half of the clueless Canon shooters who were desperate for a release from low ISO banding and 5+ year old failing sensor tech would never have been tempted to buy it and the rest of the idiots who believed the D800 would simply make them a better photographer would have stuck to cheaper options.

Instead we now have the situation that due to its massive popularity, incredible value for money and class leading feature set, not to mention competition with Medium Format bodies four times the price, we have huge numbers of users who didn't think for four seconds what the D800 was made to do and we now have endless threads from Canon trolls and newbies alike (often one and the same) who should have played safe with a body like the infintely simpler 5DMKIII that even the endlessly dim Rockwell says is made to shoot kids with.

The rest would have been history and the D800's place would have been assured as one of the greatest and most ground breaking DSLRs of all time, where it should rightly sit.
