On the other hand getting a bunch of new features via firmware means that if they didn't give them to you you would have been short changed and I think that speaks even worse of the company. It's like they dumbed it down at release so they can make buyers think they got more later when what they got is what they should have had out the door but because of marketing BS they plaid a trick on you.
It can go either way. I look at like I stated above and don't think very highly of a company that dumbs down a product so they can make themselves look better later.
With Sony you most likely got all your going to get except for some small tweaks I like that better than the "oh look we are giving you something really special months after your purchase" when really they aren't.
