I guess the 1 series is what it is.

Right from the beginning Nikon said the 1 series was an advanced camera for the person who wants to step up from a point and shoot.

Many on this forum wanted more, we wanted a compact ILC such as the OM-D E-M5. Well Nikon's recent firmware "Update" proves the System 1 is what it is.

It is a shame that Nikon does not take the little V1 (A jewel of a camera) fix the mode dial with a locking button and update the firmware to make it a true enthusiast camera.

Keep the same sensor resolution or go to 12mp max, give us a little better noise performance.

Bring in 3 or 4 fast lenses. A couple of primes and a nice zoom would be great. (I realize the 1 series is all about easy to use and compact, but they can keep their current compact lenses for that purpose. The 11-27.5mm is a good example of a compact series 1 lens.)

Otherwise, Nikon will continue to loose sales to the Sony, Sammy and 4/3rds crowd.

I know, overall, Nikon is doing well with the 1 series. But according to Nikon Rumors two years ago Nikon thought they would capture at least 50% of this market with this camera line. It did not happen, we don't have to wonder why.

Adams, Gutmann, Steichen, Snoopy, Stigletz, Weston. they lead by example.

I hunt, I peck, I squint, all on a MacBook Pro 13" laptop. So don't laugh, I'm happy there aren't more typo's! (Love the screen and touch pad, hate the keyboard.)
