How do you fine tune your wide angle lenses?
Aug 10, 2012

I have acquired Focal and realize that it does not help me with wide angle lenses.

As an example, for a 14-24 2.8, since you need to be about 50 times the focal length, you have to place your camera at about a meter from the target at 20mm.

At that distance, Focal is telling me that I need to fine tune my lens at -18.

Usually those lenses are for landscape. When I am taking any picture with the Focal recommended value at more than 3 meters, all the photos will be blured. Above that distance, the neater photos that I will get are with a value of 0.

So, is Focal of any value for that type of wide angle lenses or is that abnormal that the distance has an impact to the fine tune value?

Many thanks
