Consider that the physical space used by a CF card could easily support 2 SD cards, Meaning that pro cameras could have up to 4 SD cards with room to spare.

So....

you could have 4 (128 GB Lexar® Professional 400x SDXC™ UHS-I Cards), two main in duplex operation and two backup in duplex operation, this would nearly double throughput (700X, after accounting for some overhead, and 256GB). Also there would yet be extra space available in the card port area to store spare cards.

Or..SanDisk Extreme® Pro™ SDHC™ SDXC™ UHS-I 600X Memory Cards at 64GB. More speed but less capacity.

Capacity, speed , convenience and economics in one little package.

In the not too distant future we will be repeating this discussion but with reference to SD or Micro SD cards. ;> ) .

For future consiferations keep in mind that at higher speeds (ie GB/s rates) transmission distance becomes an issue, implying that smaller packages support faster transfer.

Prices, related to performance, will continue to decrease .
