GX1 adapter (FA-DC58C) leaks light Frustrating!!
Aug 8, 2012

Hi,

I just found out that my Canon FA-DC58C filter adapter leaks light, potentially making long exposure in day light with ND filter (6 stops or more) not possible. This makes me sooo mad/frustrated, specially after having expended TOP bucks for a piece of plastic that has design flaws.

When mounted on the camera the adapter has 2 very thin openings at the top and bottom where the light will come in (from the back of the lens), thus not a perfect light seal, if you look carefully you can see these from a closeup view.

For those having a third party adapter does yours have a perfect seal, or are there any opening?

Your help is much appreciated.

In the mean time i will try to find a work around

Cheers
