I have a HS20 EXR. I essentially use it like a point and shoot and mainly use it in EXR Dynamic range mode. If left to it's own devices regarding exposure it consistently over exposes - the best pictures usually come from exposure settings of -2/3 or -1/3. As auto EXR doesn't allow an exposure adjustment I don't use it. I have also found it useful to knock the screen brightness down a notch to make the display more closely match the final image.
