A completely mature Nex camera might even have a micro four thirds adapter available for it, if there are a bunch of u43 lenses that have enough good coverage to be good and useful on APS-C, and if it's physically possible (have not studied this possibility).

Hmmm... they will not cover it I think. Sony needs to develop it on its own with the appropriate focal lengths.

The issue is that micro43 needs electronics... but, as an open standard, that end of the adapter should be easy. The Sony end is theoretically open too, but upon approval of an application to Sony from an appropriate company.

In any case, there's only 1.25mm to work with between micro43 and E-mount flanges, so we're not talking about a very easy, sturdy, adapter. Things are not quite as tight as that sounds because the E-mount flange has something like 8mm wider diameter, but adapters with stuff fitting inside flanges are always a little funky.

A Samsung to E adapter should be technically easier... if anyone cares.
