Nikon Kit R1C1

The R1C1 kit is for close up/macro photography. (And yes, I own one). The GNs are too low for most types of portrait shooting. Either get multiple CLS flashes, strobes and stands, or hot lights (cheapest) for portraiture and save yourself a lot of wasted money. But if you want to do macro-photography, the R1C1 is a great advancement over the old Nikon quasi-ring light.
