I've been here for a while since the first EXMOR-R cams got released.. got one from every generation hoping for a breakthrough each time and it never really came until now with the RX100... Truth is nothing too much was going on in the Sony board recently anyway and was getting pretty boring and stagnant around here. If you don't have a RX100 yet I'd say you owe it to yourself to give it a chance if you're really a Sony fan. Learn to embrace it.. It's really a game changer breathed new life into the Sony compact lineup and brought a lot of new blood into the board and new Sony fans. Is that really a bad thing?

And why doesn't DPreview put this camera in a separate forum, so those who previously enjoyed coming here, can feel at home again? I don't think things will settle down into a good balance again unless this is done. Those with other Sony models will continue to go elsewhere or just keep their photos and discussions to themselves. For many years, the Sony Forum has been the best place to go, to have serious, friendly and well-informed interchanges, but sadly, no more.

first it is still a point and shoot by design it just carries a bigger sensor.

secondly i think all people who are using other Sony's H HX or whatever just should put up more images questions and so on.

i cant believe that nothing else then the RX100 matters to people.
