I have a Vortex 20-60 (think the model is Skyline) that I really like. It cost about $450-500 a few years ago and I think it is/was a great buy. Very, very sharp in the center and losing a bit of sharpness on the edges. I also got the model with the angles viewfinder, which I have found to be very convenient for sharing with my wife who almost a foot shorter than me. You will want a good tripod to hold it steady. I also have a pair of Nikon Monarch ATB (10X) binoculars which are fantastic. I actually got both after a trip to Yellowstone, but have used both for wildlife viewing and I could not be happier.
