I am seeing some glorious reviews on new DX 18-300 lens.

I don't believe in do-it-all lens, but this is such a good range for my shooting. (18-200 was just too short for my shooting needs.)

Has any of you use it with D7000 or other DX cameras? It would be great if you compare it to the combination of 16-85 and 70-300 VR.

Best thing is to just buy the 18-300 and judge for yourself and compare it yourself against your lenses. I'm happy with my 18-300 as are some other owners I've read, some however were not.

Both the 16-85 and 70-300 are consumer lenses and from my experience, the overall IQ of consumer lenses I've used do not differ that much, sure, one lens will be a bit better wide open, but no of these lenses can be consider fast (in having a large aperture) in the first place.

Just try them yourself in real life and don't go staring blind at test charts... (unless that is what you'll be shooting eveyday on a holiday...)
