How bad is the 14-42 mk I that bundles with the E-PL1?

I got four days ago, but, didn't have enough time to use it. That'll be this weekend.

Taking a few test shots suggest that it's what I expected in a cheap kit lens. I'm already liking the size. I do wish that the right neckstrap lug is interfering with how I like to hold the camera when pressing the shutter.

I need to see if I notice sharpness issues that could be attributed to the image stabilization/shutter. My difficulty with that evaluation is that I need to learn how to hold the camera properly for maximum stability. I could test on a tripod, but, haven't time yet. I also don't know how well the PL1 works on a tripod with image stabilization enabled.
