Burning Aperture movies to DVD

I'm sure this has been answered before but I would really appreciate if someone has a simple solution: I put together a slide show in aperture with 90% stills and 10% video with music. It plays smoothly when I watch on the Mac, but once burned to dvd the video is "choppy". Also, I can only watch the DVD on the computer, my DVD player does not recognize the format. I'm using os X lion software. The pixel size on video is 1920 x 1080. Video was recorded in MP4 mode using a Panasonic FZ150. Thank you so much for any input (and hopefully simple solution)!!
