No compatible, non-OEM, battery works correctly in a GH2 with any firmware version. The camera does work, but with reduced functionality. One is that the battery meter does not show. But two, the worst part, is that this means the camera firmware does not know when the battery is about to run out. This means that if you are in the middle of a long video clip, for example, the camera can shut down, and you don't get any video file saved. Finally, even worse, if you do a firmware update with a compatible battery, you can brick the camera if the battery power runs out in the middle of it... Al
