it isn't fast. we call a 35mm format lens "fast" if it has an equal or smaller f-number than f/2.8 for zooms and I'd expect f/2 for primes.

Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 is equivalent of 35mm f/3.2, "moderately fast" at most. the spec isn't attractive. if we want a same lens as our old 35mm f/2's, we'll need 22mm f/1.24 for Canon and a 23mm f/1.3 for Sony APS-C's.

Sony's E24/1.8 is a good lens at about 37mm f/2.8 equivalent. it's a very low cost lens and should be cheaper than our old 35mm f/2's (I'd expect further lower price because it's not branded as a genuine Sony but a third party who don't have a reputation for making good lenses).
