I believe that the theory behind the Arctic Butterfly is that the electrostatic charge built up before you apply the brush to the sensor attracts the dust. I barely touch the surface of the sensor and the sensor is cleaned. I also use a Sensor Scope to check the condition of the sensor both before and after.
