small full frame

Am I wrong in believing there is a market for a small full frame with a fixed half decent lens.

I mean, I am no pro, but to get the kind of pictures I like, I have to lug a Canon 5D MkII. Why aren't there more Lieca M9 kind with a fixed lens, say 24-80mm f4.0ish. Oh and a price tag of much lesser than $8K that the M9 costs, say somewhere around $1500 ish.

Is this kind of a spec not doable with todays engineering or is there no market for it? We see stuff like Sony Nex 7 and 5N, they are APC-C in a tiny body, so how much more difficult would it be to have a full frame in a similar size. I can live without interchangeable lens if we have a half decent one fixed to it.

What do you guys think? IMO the market is truly lacking small fixed frames.
