Larger sensor (or film) always equals better IQ. That's the way it has been for 60+ years, and probably always will be. However, smaller film and sensors always have a place in the market because of the smaller lenses, that's something that can't be changed because of the laws of physics.

Smaller films or sensor can't be sold at a premium price, and that's what Leica learned. The IQ will not be there to warrant the high price. Bigger systems will always cost more, because of the results being superior.
