Surprising info:
I happened to speak with the Nikon dealer here other day. He said Nikon has given them serial numbers (new batch) of cameras with AF issues and trained their Sr. Technician to fix the problem (he was the one who confirmed AF issue of my first D800).
It's difficult to figure out Nikon's business ethics or strategy.
BTW, I know the rechnician personally and will have a chat with him about the fixing methods this week.
Kind regards
Dileep
The ethical level of Nikon is revolting. Customers are just cows to milk. Our money is good, their camera is faulty. And if one doesn't read forums he will believe forever that his technique is not good enough to get in focus images with a D800. Blimey, why they don't just do the right thing, as their momma taught them?
