Salacakli I always try to shoot any lens at its optimum resolution which on a prime is usually f5.6 then you vary it from there to bring in the appropriate DOF/light for the affect you wish to achieve.

Although that lens does peak at f/5.6, it is excellent across the frame for resolution from about f/2.8 to f/11. That being said, the Pentax 35 mm f/2.4 is about the same from f/2.8 to 11. The main advantage to having the Samyang 35 mm f/1.4 is for 1.4 to 2.8 performance.

The Samyang is really intended for full frame, I loved it on the D700, but it is a huge lens for APS-C, but if you need f/1.4 it will do it, and for a lot less money than other DSLR 35 mm f/1.4 lenses.
