Zeiss 25mm f/2.8 ZF.2 T* or Nikkor 28mm F/1.8 for my D800?

I just sent back a zeiss 25 2.8 because it wasn't any better than my 24-70 at the same F/stop - and that focal length is the weak spot of the 24-70. What a waste of $1000.

I also have a Nikon 28 1.8 and I'll take it any day over the zeiss.
