street photography with manual telephoto lenses

Hi,

The other day I decided I should try taking some b&w street candids with my newly purchased pentax 135 f3.5. It is very challenging at times, especially when I review the pictures afterwards only to find out that what I thought was a good shot turns out to be just a little bit out of focus (which sometimes only shows when magnified). Some of the shots below are a tad soft, yet I decided to post them anywaym, though I did struggle within. Would you consider slight softness here and there to be a factor that ultimately dismisses certain photos? I'd love to what your approach is to the never-ending debate "form vs content"...
