CHDK questions

I've seen a lot of threads about chdk, but since I didn't want to hijack those, I've started one here.

I've been to the chdk website so I understand that there are extra features that can be added to your non-dSLR Canon.

I would be interested in getting first hand accounts about how people use chdk on a day-to-day basis. I'm trying to understand whether people consider these to be "must have" features or just "nice to have" and try to figure whether it will make a difference to me.

I am purposely not mentioning my own Canon as I don't want to limit the discussion to one model.
