5D Mark III video time limit

I just learned the only reason the Canon 5D Mark III cannot do longer than 30 min video takes is because of a stupid Euro tax law which states any device that can record longer than 30 minutes is considered a 'video camera' and therefore taxed higher. So Canon artificially limited that to avoid those taxes, it's not a technical limitation.
