Hoya Filters cheaper in Japan?
Jul 30, 2012

Maybe anyone can tell me if i'd better wait buying ND filter when i'm in japan in 4 weeks.

82mm filters don't come cheap and i'd rather wait if i could get them cheaper on my holiday trip. I'm interested in standard ND 4 to 6 stops and Grad. ND.

I know the lee holder is a nice thing to have on my ts-e 24II but it's large and expensive. Not an option at the moment. Neither is the Singh Ray vari ND because of the price. (i was planning to spend $80 to $100 max). I could buy a LCW vari ND on ebay for a steal but the reviews of that filter isn't that good. (Especially when dialled all the way up).

I know Hoya isn't that bad (i have a few filters, mostly cpl, in other diameters for other lenses and they work well) and Japanese so i thought they might be cheaper in Japan.

Please share your set-up choices on the 24TS-E.

Thanks,

Marcus
