Frustration with Vistek and Nikon Canada

I placed an order for the Nikon 85mm 1.8G on March 30, 2012 with Vistek. Since then the shipping date keeps on getting bumped every two weeks. Now the current ship date is August 9, 2012. If you thought that the wait for a D800 was long, well the lineup for a Nikon lens is even longer. I checked on photoprice.ca and no Canadian Nikon dealer has this in stock. They all have it listed as pre-order or back-ordered. A check on American retailers reveals that this item is readily available and in stock. Based upon this I can only theorize that the delivery/supply issue in Canada is related to Nikon Canada and their in-ability to forecast and procure stock.

Makes me think twice about placing additional lens orders. Maybe I should just buy what I need when I take a vacation in the U.S.
