Folks,

If I am shooting flash indoors I invariably have the camera in manual, flash in ETTL mode, use FEC to get the exposure right. This is usually very effective.

I sometimes get a problem though if I'm trying to bounce the flash using the above settings - my 580 EXII fails to fire at all, whereas it happily fires in "straight ahead" mode. I know it's me not the flash, but where am I going wrong ? I'm happy to rule out flash recycle time, it's not that.

All opinions gratefully received !
