it is clear the lens is good at F8 and above no problem at all
even F5.6 is not so bad

With the high ISO capability of NEX you could just use F5/6-F8 all the time and just let it bump up ISO

even bumping ISO it may still be better than RX100.
RX100 is hot right now if I forget about zoom

and just use the 16mm at F5.6-F8 my NEX-5N would have better IQ and just as small

Is it worth it? Well it is well worth it to me.

At usual working apertures it's fine except for extreme corners which almost never matter in a photo. At f2.8 mine is as sharp as I want in the centre. The mags and reviewers slate this lens but I think that their standards have got too high, nowadays. This I reckon is a good as my Canon 17-40 L at working apertures.
