Experience printing Kozo and other thin textured papers?

I bought a roll of Unryu Kozo paper (55gsm), and after looking at it, am very excited about it. I've printed on a lot of alternative materials before, like aluminum and stainless steel sheet, and a whole range of uncoated watercolor papers. But, I've never worked with anything that seems this delicate.
My two printers are an old Epson 4000, and a Canon 8300. I know I can probably get the paper set up in the Canon with reduced vacuum and slower advance to reduce stress on the paper, but while I know how to do that on the Epson 4000, I don't know if it'll adjust enough.
If you've printed on these types of papers, would love to know what you've learned.
Also - have you torn deckle edges? Am curious as to whether the long fibers will cause issues with that, or produce a more interesting result.
Thanks.
