in and out of the mainstream voting pattern

I'm a voter only when it comes to challenges, but it's still a great deal of fun. In a couple of recent challenges, Tears and Great Expectations, all but one of my five star votes ended up being for top ten finishers. I thought that maybe I was starting to see things more like the mainstream voter.

Sadly, when I looked this morning at the results of the Morning and Everyday Life-Green challenges, my favorites finished well down the list, with only one cracking the top half of finishers, and most placing among the bottom third.

Maybe I put too much emphasis on series titles like "things you'll see every day" and "life in your corner," but when I see a challenge described that way, I tend to rate more highly subject matter that is commonplace and banal, because that's what life in my corner is like, that's more of what I see every day.
