Does it have to be a Canon Elph?

The best compact camera is the Sony RX100. Nothing even comes close right now. If you can afford it, that's the pocket camera to get.

No it doesn't have to be a elph, just like the smaller size and the 300 has a pretty good aperture, not great. The Sony RX100 I read has a big sensor and not that big of a camera, and it would give the best IQ by far. But for $650 and on disability, I can't justify that since I only have pics taken for me every once in awhile. If the rx100 was $350 I would jump on it. What stinks is since I can't even use my hands, the camera is put on Auto mode and left for whomever I get to take pics for me. I'm sure the rx100 would produce great shots in Auto, but it has a dslr price and really best to change iso, aperture, etc.....I just learned these words, much less know what they mean But thank you!
