actually the question would be is why do you care anyways? didn't you sell all your canon gear and move to sony nex as you claimed canon was now making huge rebels or something like that?

the answer to your question is .. they happen to know the market they are engaging far better than you .. and if you are looking at the camera going .. meh, not for me .. then odds are .. you aren't the target.
I know i'm not the target really for it either .. so what?

Except that it should be a worry if camera enthusiasts generally don't even have a tiny bit of desire for a new model, even if they're never going to buy it.

I'll often lust after a new camera even though I have no intention of ever buying it. This, I have no intention of ever buying and no lust either.

By selling it in specialist outlets, with just the non-IS 22mm lens (useless for video) at a high price and 'aimed at enthusiasts' Canon are making things hard for themselves. Why would you aim a camera like this at enthusiasts? You may as well aim a baked bean at a charging rhino.

If they'd been more sensible over the price and aimed it squarely at the Sony NEX F3 or 5N I could see the point, but I struggle to see why anyone would choose this over the 5N unless they really did want to mount all their old lenses on it, and I bet nobody really does that.
