RX100 is inferior to NEX, MFT and other mirrorless ,may not be a good buy

If someone only has $650 and want the best camera for his money than RX100 is not the answer.

Only if he need a pocket size camera than RX100 make sense

Also I don't believe the 1 inch senor or the lens quality is there yet for RX100
NEX become truly great in the second generation

2nd generation NEX is a huge improvement over the first generation and I think the same will happen

Although carry the Zeiss name RX100 lens quality is unremarkable in my opinion
both the sensor and the lens are not quite ready for prime time

I would pass this time and wait for next generation. Everyone judgement will be different

My original intent is to told everyone that if size is not a problem, get a NEX for the best image quailty you can get for $650. RX100 is not a replacement of NEX as I originally hope

By the way if giving up zoom and using the 16mm pancake than NEX is also a pocket camera
